A Golden Piece of History
History
Not only does this journey take you through beautiful scenery, but you will also travel through an important piece of the Norwegian history. During World War II 30 soldiers were given a top secret assignment: Save Norway's gold holdings!
The Golden Transport Operation managed to bring 50 tons of gold from Oslo, Norway to safety in USA and Canada. Part of this amazing journey took place on this very railway. You can learn more about the history here.
